It's fire season again. If you are interested in learning how to protect your property, loved ones and community consider getting CERTified. Classes will be held in Felton at the Firehouse (131 Kirby St) Wednesdays 6:30 - 10pm Oct 16 - Nov 6 and the final class on Saturday Nov 9, 9am - 5pm.
"The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations." "The Basic CERT Training Course prepares you to handle disaster situations, at home and in your community. You will learn what to do on your own, and what to do as part of a CERT team. When you complete the 21-hour Basic CERT Course, you receive a Disaster Service Worker (DSW) badge good for five (5) years." (source)
